A masterpiece of superb craftsmanship, Dune harks back to the
golden age of yachting, brilliantly encapsulating the very essence of luxury whilst also offering spacious living areas and modern amenities that guarantee the ultimate onboard experience.
Dune has a beam of 6m, a draft of 2.4m and a volume of 122 GT.
Previously named Pink Lady IV and Tahara, her
exterior design and naval architecture are both by Benetti. Steel-hulled with an aluminium superstructure, she can accommodate up to 9 guests in 5 airy, beautifully designed cabins (one master stateroom, one double cabin, two twin cabins and one single cabin). Powered by 2 Detroit diesel engines, she can comfortably cruise at a speed of 12 knots with a top speed of 15 knots. Dune can take 12,000 litres of fuel aboard as well as 2,500 litres of water.
Dune’s interiors exude an
understated yet sophisticated elegance and are clothed in clean lines. Gleaming woods and fresh soft furnishings abound. Her open-plan main saloon has a lounge aft and a formal dining area forward. It has a modern ambience yet also retains the charm of her original era. Panoramic windows draw in plenty of natural light, giving the space a bright, airy feel. Guests will enjoy the very best of
modern amenities and comforts, including state-of-the-art audio-visual systems for a truly relaxing stay aboard.
Dune also boasts extensive teak deck areas for guests to enjoy. There is welcome shade on the aft deck with an option to dine al fresco, while sliding glass doors lead into the main saloon. The side decks run unobstructed all the way to the foredeck with its double sun pad and seating. Dune also has a large sun deck offering more sun pads,
plenty of relaxation space and a 12-seater outdoor dining area.
Captain’s comment (April 2022)
In the past 2 years, the yacht has been found to operate virtually trouble free. 10.5 knots is a very easy cruising speed at about 1650rpm, where the vessel consumes about 20 gallons per hour. The Detroit Diesels are running completely smoke free and clean of oil leaks.
The yacht is not equipped with stabilizers but has nevertheless been found to be stable both underway and at anchor. The paint system is imperfect and will require some rework. The teak cap-rails and handrails are oiled, not varnished, and this is owner’s choice. In today’s extravagant yachting environment, Dune stands apart and attracts attention as an understated and classy cool dude’s ride.
