Leontine is a stunning fast commuter clothed in classic lines from the pen of legendary architect Anselmi Boretti in 1993. She was built by the Mostes shipyard in Genoa, Italy, which is renowned for the superb quality of its craft.
Leontine’s current Owner is only her second and since he purchased her in 1998. Two captains took turns at the helm of this gorgeous fast commuter.
She spends her winters at the Port of Fontvieille in Monaco and the three summer months moored side-on at her private jetty in the port of Saint Tropez in France. Leontine is the only yacht in the old port of Saint Tropez with permission to moor side-on rather than stern-on.
Until now, Leontine has only been used for day trips and so her Owners have spent very few nights aboard. Captain Didier, who has been skippering her since 2006, takes care of her maintenance on a daily basis, winter and summer alike. Her interiors gleam with glossy wood and are furnished with elegant navy French-tufted leather sofas.
The master cabin forward has a double bed while the guest cabin aft has twin beds. The fact that they are at separate ends of the boat guarantees excellent privacy to occupants. Two members of the crew are accommodated in 1 cabin with en-suite.
Leontine flies an English flag and is owned by a natural person with VAT paid in Italy. She is ideal for an Owner seeking a unique, exclusive craft that will turn heads wherever she goes, be it in port or as she drops anchor in a bay.
As a broker, I am absolutely fascinated by Leontine – I have known her forever and have avidly followed her story over the years.
Between 1953 and the end of the 20th century, architect Franco Anselmi Boretti designed some of the most prestigious classic sailing and motor yachts, including Baglietto’s Morgana Blu and Sangermani’s Naly to name but two. The Cantieri Mostes was founded at Lezzano on Lake Como in 1914 by Alessandro Mostes who later moved the business to Genova Sturla. The dinghies and small craft built by the yard included Snipes (also known as “Beccaccini”), 12’ Dinghies (the Mostes Dinghies were particularly fast, winning 11 Italian titles between 1947 and 1962), Stars and Arpeges.
